At the heart of the Vector A-Series is Toyota’s unique articulated steering system. The articulated chassis provides excellent manoeuvrability and significantly reduces the space required when transferring between aisles, allowing transfer aisles to be up to one metre narrower than those required by a conventional non-articulated VNA truck. This allows more of the available warehouse space to be dedicated to valuable pallet storage.
Designed for wire or rail-guided operation, the Vector A-Series combines powerful twin drive units with a lightweight but robust four-wheel chassis to deliver fast work cycles, excellent stability and impressive lifting performance.
Toyota’s BT Optipace system continuously adapts travel and handling speeds according to factors including lift height and load weight, helping the truck operate at the highest appropriate performance while maintaining stability and control.
Safety can be further enhanced with a Personal Protection System (PPS) using front and rear scanners to detect people or obstacles within the aisle. When a potential hazard is identified, the truck can automatically slow down or stop to help prevent a collision.
Advanced navigation technology can guide the operator directly to the correct pallet location, improving accuracy and productivity. When integrated with a Warehouse Management System, the most efficient route to the next location can also be predetermined.
The Vector’s belt-driven fork movement provides smooth, low-vibration operation without the lubrication requirements associated with traditional rack-and-pinion systems, helping to reduce maintenance requirements and operating costs.
As a Toyota Smart Truck, the Vector can be connected to Toyota I_Site, providing greater visibility of truck utilisation, performance and operation.
